Job Description
The Assistant Store Keeper (temporary) position provides an opportunity to gain experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, and stock control. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the stockroom by receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving: Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, check for accuracy and damage, and ensure proper storage.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records using a warehouse management system (WMS) or manual methods.
- Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, identify low stock items, and initiate procedures for restocking.
- Storage: Organize and maintain the stockroom according to designated procedures, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of items.
- Issuing: Process requests for supplies and equipment, pick and pack orders accurately, and maintain documentation.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the stockroom clean, organized, and safe, following safety protocols.
- Other duties: May include assisting with cycle counts, data entry, and reporting tasks as assigned.
